TITAN ScanIn runs in the environment of Microsoft Windows 95‘’98‘’2000 and NT, specially is designed for map vector. It can convert raster image map imported by scanner to vector data map, then convert this vector data to data format supported by geography information system in the international mainstream.

First, image processing and showing:
TITAN ScanIn supports all kinds of general image formats, such as Tiff and Bmp, etc. And it can process all kinds of colored (24bits to 8bit) and black image, including classifying, removing yawp, converting format, emendation, rotating zooming out and in, editing image, etc. These image processing function can help you to convert original colored and black image to more perfect and conveniently be processed later.
Support GeoTiff image format, it can automatically convert position information within GeoTiff file to control information of TITAN ScanIn. It also can import general Tiff and Bmp file to TITAN ScanIn, then add control spots in TITAN ScanIn, then save as GeoTiff file, and convert general Tiff and Bmp file to GeoTiff image file with position information, so that match with GeoTiff supported by other systems.
Support to connect with mult files. Because of small breadth scanners used by some users and difficulty in processing map of large breadth, TITAN ScanIn supports to connect with mult images and become a whole image file of large breadth.
Support to guide with template. Under the direction of guide with template, it can step by step complete the information needed by map vector.
Second, vector of geography essentials
TITAN ScanIn mainly provides two making vector manners, those are entirely automatic vector and mutual vector. Mutual vector also provides mult operation of making vector, and user can neatly select according to own map data.
1. automatic vector
For more perfect image after image processing, user can make vector in the manner of automatic tracking, using that way, user can get one-off vector data of current image. For more perfect image (image in focus, geography essential and line are brilliance and rarely disconnected) after image processing, user can select the manner of automatic vector to process. Automatic vector can get one-off vector data result of image. In processing automatic vector, TITAN ScanIn can provide "automatically picking up central line" and "automatically picking up marginal line" two manners, if users are disinterest in the width of line, and only think about distribution of lines, such as contour line, so "automatically picking up central line" can satisfy them; If users think about the breadth of line, for picking up margins of line with certain breadth, then user can select the manner of "automatically picking up marginal line".
2. semiautomatic tracking vector
For images in which essentials of map mutually overlap and cross, we can use our arithmetic with American patent: using dynamic line tacking manner for linear essentials to mutually track. In the mutual tracking, user only need to point next line needed to be tracked with mouse, TITAN ScanIn can automatically track break of line, fork of line, and wait for next line needed to be tracked and direction of line. And user can adjust step of tracking and span of line yawp. In the processing of tracking, TITAN ScanIn provides mult shortcut manner, such as close line, node back off, jump to tracking the starting spot, etc., through using these shortcut manner, user can greatly enhance the speed of vector. For neighboring mult lines, user can select to track in mult lines, he only need pitch on neighboring line with mouse, then TITAN ScanIn will automatically make vector these lines pitched on.
3. colored images vector
Other, TITAN ScanIn also can directly track in colored image with forenamed manners of mult tracking, and not needed to convert image to digital for preventing it from losing information. TITAN ScanIn makes user get a same colored image with really paper image.
Processing colored images, TITAN ScanIn also provides two kinds of manners of processing colored map. One is called Classify, which divides the color of original colored images into several sorts. If importing through 24bit colored scanner, there are 17600 thousands of colors after scanning. So many colors that the size of image is excessively large and difficultly save, on the other hand it is difficult to pick up vector. Through Classifying manner, we can classify 24bit image, for example, classify into 100 sorts, so that we can save image in 8bit. The other is called Appoint Background image: Firstly scan and import colored map, and convert it to black and white digital map, and save it to other image in other name. Then again import colored image, so in the present window there are two images from the same map, one is black and white image, the other is colored image. User can appoint that black and white image is background image, and track essentials required in colored map.
4. pick up borderline of surface color block
In the new editor of TITAN ScanIn, we add a plenty of mutual tracking manner, respectively tracking similar area picked up for borderline of spot; tracking midline picked up for borderline of area; tracking margin of area picked up for image with neighboring color area; tracking area increasing picked up for image with neighboring color splash, etc. Because of mutual tracking, the compliant ability of TITAN ScanIn is greatly improved, this assures that TITAN ScanIn can process all kinds of complex images.
Third, modifying and editing vector data
Modifying and editing vector data function partly complete the task of modifying line, plane and spot essentials having been made vector, and this function is the same important. Connection and insetting function of data is very important in making vector of map. TITAN ScanIn provides connection and insetting function of data. Connection function: it can automatically joint several vector maps after emendation of control points and create new data collection. insetting function: in the certain map with small scale, user can cut a part of it, then use a map with bigger scale to inset, finally become a new map. TITAN ScanIn provides functions of control point emendation and vector data cutting, so that user can conveniently realize this way.
For contour line data, TITAN ScanIn not only provides to mutual evaluate in high degree, but also provides all kinds of examination manner in high degree: mutual examination, high chromatogram examination, automatic producing color examination, producing digital high-degree module examination, etc.
